Proclamation Recognition: Wake County Board of Commissioners
January 5, 2026
On January 5, 2026—the 115th anniversary of the founding of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, Cary Alumni Chapter received an official proclamation from the Wake County Board of Commissioners recognizing our commitment to service, mentorship, and community impact across Wake County.
To be recognized on Founders’ Day, the date marking the beginning of our Fraternity’s history and legacy, makes this honor especially meaningful. For our chapter—founded on October 28, 1989—this recognition carries deep significance, as October 28 is now officially recognized as Cary Alumni Chapter Day of Service, affirming nearly four decades of sustained impact in our community.
This moment reflects not only our chapter’s work, but the enduring mission of Kappa Alpha Psi to uplift communities through achievement, leadership, and service.
