Kamp Achievement
Brother Anthony Nottingham and Brother Derwin Warren led our inaugural ‘Kamp Achievement’ on the weekend of October 12-13, 2024, an impactful overnight camp-style program attended by 20 of our Kappa Leaguers. This pilot year marked the first of its kind, with the vision of Cary Kamp Achievement to build courage, foster group-based learning and teamwork, and instill self-respect in our young men. The camp successfully achieved several key goals, including motivating students to strive for higher levels of achievement, exposing them to activities rich in cultural information and experiences, and providing life skills development. Emphasizing college and career readiness, we ensured to hone in on the seven phases of Kappa League, while also offering business development and enrichment activities for participants. Additionally, the camp focused on enhancing the leaguers interpersonal skills, and the mentoring sessions addressed vital topics such as mental health, law enforcement, decision-making, and overcoming fear, equipping the young men with the tools they need to succeed in life.
As this was the inaugural year, we are excited to expand the program in the next fraternal year, opening it up to male students in grades 6th-12th outside of Kappa League. This expansion will provide more young men with the opportunity to gain exposure to Kamp Achievement, a spin-off of Kappa Kamp, and continue to empower them for success in their academic, personal, and professional lives.

Academic & Career Readiness
From sharpening their reading, writing, and public speaking skills to exploring college and career opportunities, this camp was all about setting them up for success. By exposing them to new ideas, cultural experiences, and professional insights, we’re making sure they leave with a bigger vision for their future and the motivation to achieve it.

Leadership & Life Skills in Action
Through hands-on activities, real talk with mentors, and group challenges, our Kappa Leaguers learned the value of teamwork, decision-making, and preparation. Sessions on mental health, interactions with law enforcement, and overcoming fear gave them tools to lead not just in school, but in life.

Building Courage & Confidence
This first-ever Cary Kamp Achievement was all about pushing our Kappa Leaguers outside their comfort zones. Whether it was speaking up in discussions, tackling new challenges, or learning how to navigate tough situations, we focused on helping them develop self-respect, resilience, and the confidence to take on the world.
